Aircraft Wargame 3 is a vertically scrolling shoot 'em up game where players take control of an aircraft on a mission to eliminate enemy ships.

In addition to engaging in intense firefights, players have the opportunity to collect coins and power-ups to enhance their aircraft's capabilities, enabling them to avoid enemy impacts and incoming shots.

Displayed at the bottom of the screen are indicators for remaining life, shield strength, and total coins collected throughout the gameplay.

Players benefit from unlimited ammunition in Aircraft Wargame 3, allowing them to focus solely on reaching the final phase. Projectiles are fired in a linear fashion, with the ability to shoot either three bullets or fewer simultaneously.

Each stage consists of four phases and includes a boss encounter, resulting in a total of 50 challenging stages. The game's difficulty progressively increases, providing a thrilling experience that can be demanding at times.

Enemy aircraft come in various sizes, designs, formations, and flight patterns, offering diverse challenges. Destroying enemy planes rewards players with coins or power-ups, with larger aircraft requiring multiple shots for elimination.

Players can utilize the coins collected at the beginning of each level to enhance and upgrade their skills continuously.

In addition to medium-sized aircraft that require several hits for takedown, players will face larger planes that demand significantly more firepower. Agile small planes intermittently traverse the bottom of the screen, accelerating towards the top.

Every four phases culminate in an encounter with a formidable final foe—Ayazo, a Japanese bomber inspired by the Nakajima G8n—must be defeated to progress.

The available power-ups include:

Friend Ships: This power-up summons two supporting planes to aid in battles against enemy aircraft.
Extra Life: Grants an additional life when collected.
Bombs: Unleashes a 360-degree onslaught of shots from the player's aircraft upon collection.
Energy Shield: Activates a shield that protects the player from enemy attacks until its energy is depleted.
